WASHINGTON — A week after dismissing concerns about global warming as the product of an “active media campaign,” U.S. Rep. Barbara Cubin, R-Wyo., held a press conference today to say the Earth is, in fact, flat.
“There still exists broad disagreement within the scientific community on the extent to which the globe is curved,” Cubin said.
Contrary to what people may have seen in textbooks, peer-reviewed journals or NASA photographs, the Earth’s spherical, orb-like shape is still a matter of debate, Cubin said.
She attributed the widespread perception that the Earth is round to “unpatriotic liberals, activist judges and a few dead-enders.”
When asked by reporters about Galileo, Copernicus, Columbus and Ptolemy, Cubin denounced them as illegal immigrants and called for their immediate deportation.
“I am trying to keep America safe,” Cubin said. Raising questions about global warming or the Earth’s shape “sends a dangerous message to the terrorists.”
Although federal records show Cubin has received $848,000 in campaign donations from the International Flat Earth Society PAC, her spokeswoman said the congresswoman is working hard to dismantle the agency that keeps those records.
Cubin likened her effort to shield truth from scientists to the greater war on terrorism.
“It’s not like we can sort of win,” she added. “We either win this or we are destroyed.”

This can’t be real…can it?
with Cubin, you never know …
Well Done!
Hey Mediator,
Seriously I want to know. Is this real, or is this just some of your Anti-Cubin propoganda? I know there is a distaste for the Cubin but this is pretty extreme.
it’s satire, Carl.
