Larson backs Cubin on national ID card

By Jim Stanford on February 28, 2007

State Sen. Grant Larson, R-Jackson, killed a bill that would have stated Wyoming’s opposition to a national ID card.

Larson appears to have followed the direction of U.S. Rep. Barbara Cubin, R-Wyo., who co-sponsored the Real ID Act and pressured Wyoming lawmakers not to oppose it.

The Wyoming House overwhelmingly approved a joint resolution calling for repeal of Cubin’s legislation, but Larson made sure it did not move past the Senate committee he chairs, the Casper Star-Tribune reported.

The resolution stated that the Real ID Act will “enable the crime of identity theft by making the personal information of all Americans, including date of birth and signature, accessible from tens of thousands of locations.”

“It was a piece of legislation that would have absolutely zero effect,” Larson told the Star-Tribune. “Congress isn’t waiting for us to send a joint resolution.”

For Wyoming Republicans, it seems, party loyalty trumps the best interests of citizens every time.

Barbara Cubin is trying to stand up for working Americans by trying to stop illegal immigration. She has a tough fight against the open borders - more immigration crowd. This is exactly why I and others I know voted for her and not Gary Trauner, for although he is a nice guy, I don;t want to bet my childs future on him! Most congress men and woman have no idea the effects that illegal immigration has on the working class guy. The illegals can not afford to live next door to them and they do not over crowd their private schools, they haven’t stolen their jobs or depressed their wages, and I bet they have not caught them having sex under their porch the way that I have! We won’t even get into the used needles and dirty diapers on the ground by the dumpster, illegal daycares, 9 people living next door in a 2 bedroom apartment (NO RESPECT FOR NEIGHBORS) or th Saturday night parties that go on till 11:30 with the THUMP THUMP THUMPING crappy azz music coming from our fair building…this hasen’t happened in a couple mounths–too cold or found some where else to party—As you can tell my animosity has died down a LITTLE since they are not TORMENTING me every Saturday night (for the time being)
