what’s next for Dick?

He’s a little banged up and bruised, but Dick Cheney is ready for his next adventure.

No, not invading Iran.

Burning Man.

A lively crew of some 40 or more Jackson Holers has taken the infamous Peace Rally statue to the Burning Man festival in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada. The week-long celebration of art began at midnight today.

Big Dick hitched a ride on a 20-foot-long Chinese junk boat fashioned from an old pickup and exquisitely adorned in glow-in-the-dark paint. Fishing rod in one hand and oil rig in the other, he will spend the week amid 40,000 or so Burners in a phantasmagoric party on the sands of the Playa.

It ought to be a liberating experience for him. He needs to loosen up a little.

Photographers Craig Blank and Andrew Wyatt are among the dozens of JH denizens set to boogie on the junk boat and will be documenting Dick’s bender for us. Check back later in the week for an update.
