Nothing like a risqué costume party to heat up the January doldrums.
Saturday night’s Players’ Ball, thrown by Jackson Hole Snowboarder magazine at Snow King Resort, may have been the biggest bash of the winter. The caliber of the festivities, and the size of the crowd (800-plus?), were on par with Halloween.
Revelers came decked out in style, as seen in this gallery of images by photographer Morris Weintraub, who worked overtime to document the ball.
Skids, ski-lebrities and would-be rock stars turned out to boogie to a slate of DJs headed by the New York hip-hop duo El Gant and Portland’s DJ Wicked. The dance floors were packed in the hotel’s Grand Room and downstairs in The Lounge (née Shady Lady). The crowd was funked up.
Once the resort emptied out, the merrymaking lasted in some quarters until dawn.
Kudos to the good folks at JH Snowboarder for hosting such a high time.

Makes you want to take up snowboarding, almost.
Yeah, you know me.
JH riders got game on and off the slopes.
No, ossifer, nothing to worry about here. That fragrant odor you smell is just the funk from dirty fleece and snowboard boots.
JH Snowboarder publisher Jesse Brown dishes out the prizes with help from DJ Cutter and crew. The 120-page glossy is put out by a staff of three and freelancers.
Money shot.
The invite said, “Dress to Impress.”
There was a velvet rope for VIPs on the resort’s second level, where people queued to get inside … the Shady Lady. The Shady hadn’t rocked so hard this millennium.
Outside, the snow kept falling, promising yet another powder day for those not too hungover to make it to the slopes. Nine more inches fell in the Tetons overnight.
After I ditch this Freedom Rocker, I’ll meet you in aisle three of nonfiction.
TR displays the proper form for pouring bubbly.
I just love your blog, The Snaz. In fact, I think bloggers are sexy.
Party favor?
