So little time, so many things to tackle as the electioneering builds to a frenzy in Teton County.
Let’s start with tonight: two events aimed at getting out the vote, particularly the younger ski/snowboard community traditionally pegged as slackers but likely to rise up en masse this year.
First, Jay Varley is throwing a party from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at LMC, the contemporary art gallery fast becoming a hip hangout for the politically minded, 130 S. Jackson St. FREE BEER and WINE!
The high school band Rotating Superstructure will perform; several accounts testify that these kids kick ass.
Then, the party shifts to Stone Table, where ripping snowboarder turned Obama mama Julie Zell is opening her doors to show Obama’s TV address beginning at 7 p.m. Snacks will be served. DJ Mike Thunder is spinning tunes afterward.
Looking for ways to get involved? After the jump, a list of upcoming events leading to Election Night. Pitch in for a few hours Sunday and earn a chance at winning dinner for two at Osteria; massage, acupuncture and spa treatments; and other prizes donated by Tom Mangelsen, Whole Grocer and more.
