The lightning storm that struck 17 climbers on the Grand Teton yesterday left a spectacular sky in its wake.
Rangers have resumed searching this morning for the last victim, who is believed to have fallen over a cliff. Our thoughts are with the climbers and rescuers.
The cloud formations over Blacktail Butte at sunset were some of the strangest I’ve ever seen, with fantastic textures and color and even a rainbow springing from the midst. Made for a memorable float trip down the Snake.

Rangers located the body of the 17th climber today on the NW face of the Grand. Climber was from Iowa. The only locals struck were seasonal workers from Signal Mountain. The rescue is probably the most complex in park history.
