This sounds like a really great time. Click to enlarge.

Let the parade of private jets commence into Grand Teton National Airstrip.

There will be a few folks, unable to pony up $30,000 for dinner, who will give Mitt their own welcome along Highway 390 on Thursday afternoon.

The address at Chez Cheney is 4205 W. Greens Place, for anyone who might have misplaced it amidst all the excitement at the last dressage match.

Update 7/13: I imagine our local elected officials who paid $2,500 to hear this must have felt pretty foolish:

“When I think about the kind of individual I want in the Oval Office in that moment of crisis, who has to make those key decisions, some of them life-and-death decisions, some of them decisions as commander in chief, who has the responsibility for sending some of our young men and women into harm’s way, that man is Mitt Romney,” Cheney told the crowd.

Sorry Jim but was it really necessary to post his address? He had it removed from the Teton County GIS for a reason. You might have some SS come knockin.

Excellent. I`ll have to rearrange my squash match but I’m sure it will all work out.

Ah yes- nothing like dinner with a war criminal to get the republicans to come out and open their checkbooks for the nominee that no one really likes.

  6. JFish July 9, 2012 10:49 pm

So you guys can sit there with all seriousness and claim that the Democrats don’t have lavish parties and fundraiser just like this. Come on.They are all the same.

So 20,000 a Head is less obscene that 50,000.At least Romney’s is in the USA.They are all the same.

My problem with the whole thing is that it takes that much money just to get involved in the whole thing. We might get better government if it didn’t take a rich man just to run a campaign.

  9. Tater July 10, 2012 9:17 am

Oh Boy! Oh Boy!!! The Dick is back in town!!! Relax JFish, It’s just politics and yes they are all evil, self-serving, two faced parasites. It doesn’t matter which side your on.

  10. D July 10, 2012 10:07 am

Breaking: JS joins Romney street team! He is currently pedaling his Fixie around town plastering poster boards with invitations.

  11. Brad July 10, 2012 10:26 am

Jim, don’t you have better things to do that afternoon with your clients on the river? And, like hk said, be careful what you wish for.

  12. brian July 10, 2012 10:51 am

Maybe a 3-4 week campaign period with limits on funding (government funded) like the UK will open the political process up to a more diverse group of candidates?

  13. js July 10, 2012 3:22 pm

Just afflicting the comfortable, guys. Not looking to crash the festivities.
And how Dick Cheney is comfortably ensconced in a country club, free to hobnob with Mitt and a bunch of corporate stiffs, instead of being in shackles in The Hague remains bewildering.

  14. Jh July 10, 2012 10:49 pm

@hk – Let’s ask the thousands of dead Iraqi children if it was necessary to post his address……. #Anonymous #SeekTruth #GlobalEvolution

  15. KeepJHOpenMinded...is it too late? July 11, 2012 2:58 pm

the negative feedback you get from any political posts is hysterical JS!!!…. you are entitled to your opinion. It is YOUR blog JS! If they disagree with your views, maybe they can find a new blog that makes them feel more comfortable with their ignorance and caters to the 1% they wish to be one day.
If you support Mitt and his mission as the president,(ban gay marriage, send US jobs over seas like Mitt has done, outlaw a womens right to choose, etc.) then that speaks enough about your values. Go post comments to folks who actually give a damn about your opinions! You will never change our views here…. war crime criminals live in JH. This is a fact.

    Let’s Go Mets!!!!!!

  17. JFish July 11, 2012 11:14 pm

  18. Danno July 12, 2012 5:29 am

What are all these libs going to do when Romney wins the election, boo hoo waa waaa

  19. Tater July 12, 2012 10:04 am

Romney’s going to win the election!?!? Hahahahahahahahahahahahah good one Danno. I guess if people are ignorant enough to vote for Bush they just might be dumb enough to vote for Mitt the flip flopping, job creating (over seas), tax evading, common man (if your from the Hamptons). Once again we have a choice between a turd sandwich against a giant douche.

  20. Win! July 12, 2012 2:05 pm

Romney was born in Mexico therefore he is ineligible to become president of the United States of America

  21. sc July 12, 2012 2:16 pm

OMG, lighten up JH bloggers! It’s a joke not a serious political debate. Jeez, election season will be a nightmare if everyone is already so wound up.

  22. Rob Weinstein July 12, 2012 2:45 pm

We’re all cutting out the caffeine and taking our seven wives down the river in our mandatory Hyde drift boats.

  23. Jazz July 12, 2012 7:50 pm

Hopefully Teton County goes “Blue” in November – as it did in 2008! Time for the rest of Wyoming to get onboard and vote the oppressive/repressive, reptilian-brained, racist, sexist, homophobic, war mongering, uber-religious, bigoted, fat cat GOP
politicians out of office! Obama/Biden 2012

  24. sc July 12, 2012 9:22 pm

Lets’ go Mets! JS for president – whoooo! :)

  25. SSDY July 13, 2012 5:01 am

Jazz = idiot. Keep looking at your USA today pictures and headlines. Without mention most know Teton county will go blue. Unfortunately for Jazzy – our bubble here in Teton county will not be close to how the rest of the US votes. BO has not managed to provide the change we need. Time for another change.

  26. murph July 13, 2012 8:29 am

only 4 mil raised last night

  27. Brad July 13, 2012 8:56 am

Anything else, Jazz? Is that it?

  28. js July 13, 2012 11:04 am

The event was “expected” to raise $4 million. That’s a boast. And probably a wild exaggeration, despite the fact that a private jet landed at Jackson Hole Airport about every five minutes yesterday afternoon.
