Ben Bridwell of Band of Horses performs at the 2010 New Orleans Jazz Fest.

Is there a ghost in the Pink Garter? Music fans will find out July 31 when Band of Horses performs at the downtown Jackson theater.

The show is the biggest yet for the Pink Garter. Tickets go on sale at noon today and likely won’t last long. Purchase them at the theater/Pinky G’s or online.

Band of Horses has been touring this summer with My Morning Jacket and will stop in Jackson between shows in Salt Lake City and Red Rocks. The group formed in Seattle but has roots in South Carolina. The indie rockers scored a pair of pop hits in 2007 with the songs “Is There a Ghost” and “No One’s Gonna Love You” from the album Cease to Begin.

The band plans to release its fourth studio album, Mirage Rock, in September.

this is great for Jackson – wish I could be there.

When KHOL first went on air in april of ’08 Jim chose the first song (Grateful Dead – New Speedway Boogie), Walker chose the 2nd (i believe it was Funkadelic – Can You Get to That?) and the third was mine: Band of Horses – Ode to The LRC. The chorus always made me think of JH: “In a town so small, how could anybody not, look you in the eye, or wave as you drive by. The world is such a wonderful place” Enjoy the show!

Been getting back into BOH after hearing their new song Knock Knock on YouTube. Can’t wait to get this album and hopefully see them live.
