Thanks for bearing with us these last three weeks, as I’ve been out of town, for work and pleasure, more than I’ve been home.

Most recently JH Underground joined the hordes of Jacksonites on spring pilgrimage to the desert for a few days of camping and mountain biking. I’ll have a report on these and other adventures shortly.

Time to clean the slate as we gear up for summer.

Remarkably, we have made it through the last 1,460 days, and Barack Obama’s inauguration is here at last.

The Bush presidency wouldn’t have been complete, however, without one last disaster.

No sooner had I signed off on yesterday’s post about “live blogging” than the server that hosts this site, somewhere in California, crashed horribly. We were down until late last night, along with thousands of other Web sites.

My apologies for any confusion. Let’s hope today goes smoother as we try to catch up to real time and usher in a brighter future for America.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

In these scary economic times, it’s helpful to get together with family and friends and reflect on having everything we need, and then some.

At JH Underground, we’re taking a much-deserved break in the tropics in preparation for the long, cold winter ahead. Posts may be sparse for the next week or so, but this is not another hiatus (although longtime readers will associate this photo with such a layoff).

Surprise! For all those who thought we were dead: Nope, just reloading.

Thanks for your patience as we’ve negotiated a couple of nettlesome technical problems and upgraded the site. I’ll be continuing to tweak the design and add and enhance features, so bear with us.

This long-overdue upgrade will improve security, eliminate the thousands of comments of spam I’ve had to wade through each week, and allow for much more dynamic content. Sarah Palin videos, coming soon!
